PJ’s Vacuum is an established family vacuum business out of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The store owner already had a decent digital presence. The goal was to build a cohesive brand, create compelling brand copy, and design a website that had e-commerce capabilities.

For the brand, I did not want to deviate too far from what was currently designed. When a business is already established, the goal is to build on the brand, tweak it, make it better — not to wipe the brand slate clean. So, we took the existing brand colors (a navy blue and red) and added to that color palette with complimentary colors. We then added a custom icon to the logo along with matching icons that highlight the different types of vacuum models they sell. All custom brand elements have a retro vibe given that the business has been around for nearly 50 years.
